– About Me –

CHEMINS D’HISTOIRE

More than a tour, a personal journey through history.

WHO I AM?

History is not just my passion; it is where I am living.

My family village is Montbrehain, a small village in Picardy that holds a unique place in history: it was the site of the very last infantry battle of the Australian Corps in 1918.

Growing up surrounded by these landscapes, I walked the fields where soldiers from halfway across the world fought and fell.

This childhood connection to the « Old Front Line » sparked a lifelong dedication to understanding and sharing their stories.

Why « Chemins d’Histoire »?

I created Chemins d’Histoire (Paths of History) in 2009 with a simple philosophy: remembrance should be intimate.

Whether you are a history enthusiast or a family on a pilgrimage to visit a relative’s grave, my goal is to help you « read » the landscape. I want to take you beyond the main roads, to the quiet corners of the battlefield where the true history lies, ensuring that the memory of these men is never lost.

While passion is essential, accuracy is paramount. I am not just a local enthusiast; I am a fully licensed professional guide:

  • Official Guide-Lecturer (« Guide-Conférencier ») certified by the French Ministry of Culture.

  • Partner of the Somme Battlefields (Label « Somme Battlefields’ Partner »).

  • Partner of AISNE 14-18 Passeurs de Mémoire (Passing the Memory)

  • Experienced with Media & Delegations: I have guided official delegations and assisting TV documentaries in uncovering the reality of the Great War.

  • Licensed Transport Operator: I hold an official French Public Transport License, which is mandatory for driving passengers in France. This guarantees that you are traveling with a regulated professional.

  • Fully Registered Business: Chemins d’Histoire operates in strict compliance with French legislation.

Your Private Journey
I believe that a battlefield tour requires comfort and flexibility. You will travel in a premium Mercedes GLB class (SUV), offering a safe and relaxing environment for our day together.
