Olivier just wanted to say thanks for the battlefields tour on the 25th we found it extremely informative. We appreciated that you were able to adapt the tour to locate graves of family members and allowed us the time we needed. Thanks also for your prompt replies to my EMails which gave me confidence in your service considering l had to organize things from the other side of the world. Thanks once again.

In June 2010 I organised a full day battlefield tour with Olivier of
Chemins d'Histoire. What a great day we had! I came across Olivier
following an internet search, and from my first contact I had a good
feeling about him. He is a consumate battlefield guide. I had some
specific sites that I wanted to visit in the Somme. Olivier tailored a
tour to suit my requirements, and added in some other great point of
interest. We followed in the footsteps of the AIF 4th Division,
particulary around Pozieres, Geudeucourt and Bullecourt. Olivier had
obviously done is research before the tour and was knowledgeable and
passionate about is work. My wife and two daughters, aged 11 and 6 came
on the tour. At first I thought it may have been too much form them,
but Olivier was terrific with the girls, and showed much patience and
understanding during the long day. Digger Bear was a huge hit, and as
starred in many of our photos taken across the Somme.
Anyone
considering a battlefield tour could not go past Olivier, and I would
highly recommend him for his enthousiam, passion, patience and his
growing vocabulary of Australian slang spoken with a ripper accent!

"I contacted Olivier because I wanted to do a tour of the Somme
Battlefields to see where the Australians fought during the Great War.
In particular I wanted to visit Le Hamel to see the place where my Great Uncle Henry Dalziel VC fought.
Olivier not only took me to all of the major Australian Battlefields
but he also took me to the trenches outside of Le Hamel where my Great
Uncle performed the actions which led to him to being awarded the
Victoria Cross.
I found Olivier to be extremely knowledgable and he tailored the tour to be exactly what I wanted.
I will never forget my tour and I would highly recommend him as a tour
guide to anyone who wants to undertake a Somme Battlefield tour."

"Our
wonderful guide, Olivier, was recommanded to us by our daughter who
took a tour of the battlefields with him last year. She maintained
it was a life changing experience, something she would never
forget, and having recently taken a tour with Olivier ourselves, I
would thoroughly agree. He is a charming, very knowledgeable guide, who
goes out of his way to personalise your tour and make it unforgetable.
He took us to the well known sites but also to those not so well
known but of enormous interest, explaining the strategies employed by
both sides with understanding and maps and photographs to expand the
whole experience. In our case he researched my relative's military
history and took us to the exact field where he fought and was wounded.
He also travelled to Ypres to pick us up and planned his tour to fit
with our travel arrangements. I could no more highly recommend him."

Dear Olivier, just a note to thank you once again for an excellent tour
on 1st July. We all both enjoyed and learnt a great deal during our day
with you and appreciate your additional efforts on our behalf.
Personnally, I found it very interesting to hear your own French
perspective on events. Best wishes.

Olivier, a quicke note from Kerrie and myself to thank you so much for
a job so very well done today. I know Kerrie was very excited with the
research you did on her great grandfather and in particular her great
uncle. Visiting the sites and sensing the presence of the spirits of so
many young men taken from this earth so far from their homes and family
was memorable. Do enjoy good things. Kindest regards.

We were picked up at our hotel in Amiens by our guide Olivier. He is a
truly amazing and extremely interesting and knowledgeable person. He
tailored our tour to follow the footsteps of Scottish soldiers and
researched the history of my husband's great grandfathers batallion. We
were taken to all the major places of interest including the field in
which is great grandfather was most probably killed and the tour ended
with a very memorable and emotional trip to his graveside. We cannot
thank Olivier enough for taking the time and effort to make this trip
very memorable and personal to us. I would definately recommend his
company.

Dear Olivier, We arrived home last night and we wanted to send you a
little note on how much we enjoyed the tour. Your knowledge of the
local history of the Great War was remarkable. You helped us to put the
battles and locations in perspective and lead us to understand the
suffering and sacrifice of all those involved. The tour and visit to
Vimy Ridge Memorial were highlights of our vacation in Europe. Thank
you again.
